Hi! I’m just gonna let you know right away that this is primarily a bug-fixing build; no new Amai content, and no huge new feature. I apologize if that’s a disappointment. I was hoping to get a lot more work done over the past 2 weeks, but a lot of things kept pulling me away from work. I’d love to promise that the next 2 weeks will be different, but I’m already aware of a few things that will be eating up my time later this month, so I can’t really give any guarantees.
Even though I don’t have an exciting new feature to release today, I *do* have something special to announce. To find out what it is, scroll down past this absolutely amazing performance by Russian cosplayers that involved over 20 people cosplaying as various Yandere Simulator characters!
This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen the fan community create! It makes me so happy!
YandereShop
Remember way back in July of 2025 when I announced that a website called YandereShop was going to be selling official Yandere Simulator merchandise?
It took some time to get ready, but the store will finally be launching in just a couple of days!
Visit https://yandereshop.com/ and click “Join Waitlist” if you’d like to be notified the moment that the merch becomes available for purchase!
Changes
- Updated Amai’s “this character hasn’t appeared in the story yet, so you’re only seeing a mysterious silhouette” portrait to use her new hair model.
- The game now censors “Pushing off Rooftop” and “Drowning” when the “Fully Hide Killing Animations” censorship option is enabled.
- Previously, in Custom Mode, it wasn’t possible to change a teacher’s eye type. It is now possible.
- The teachers in 1980s Mode now have hair physics.
Fixes
- Some of Amai’s subtitles were not accurate to her voice lines. These subtitles have been corrected. However, you’ll notice that there are still some inaccurate subtitles left in the game. This is because I plan to have Amai’s voice actress re-record a few lines. Don’t worry about it. Basically, just don’t report anything related to Amai’s subtitles right now. Wait until I say “Amai’s done.”
- If the player went to the guidance counselor as fast as possible at the very beginning of the school day and then ran back to watch Senpai and the rival have their morning conversation, the player would witness Senpai and the rival performing their morning conversation while sliding across the ground in the direction of their shoe lockers. This bug has been fixed.
- In the 1980s Mode “True Ending” cutscene, where Ryoba discovers that Jokichi is missing, she was not using the correct face shape. Her face shape is now correct at the beginning of the animation (but it changes when she reacts to Jokichi’s absence, so that she can be more expressive).
- When the “Hide Killing Animations” censorship option is disabled, the sound effects of murder (including screams) are supposed to be silenced. However, there was an oversight, and one sound wasn’t been silenced: the sound of a student being strangled. This bug has been fixed.
- If the player reported Amai to the counselor for “creating a fire hazard” and the counselor yelled at Amai for it, Amai would still use the stove in the Home Ec room, even though she should be aware of the fact that it is sabotaged. This oversight has been corrected.
- If the player attended class during Amai’s picnic event, Amai would continue to use the “carrying plates of food” idle animation and walk animation as her default idle/walk animations, instead of returning to her normal animations. This oversight has been corrected.
- In Custom Mode, if the player created a female Senpai, the Senpai would be incapable of performing the “impatiently tapping foot while waiting for rival to arrive” animation, because the animation didn’t exist. This oversight has been corrected.
- If the End of Day Police Investigation sequence displayed the “police discover a student in a box” scenario, the police would perform their walking animation instead of their “surprised to discover someone in a box” animation. This bug has been fixed.
- If the player activated Anniversary Mode and then activated the Alphabet Killer Challenge, the player would arrive at school with Anniversary Mode active and immediately fail the ABC challenge. This bug has been fixed.
- If the player stood in the Photography clubroom and looked in the direction of Info-chan’s room, a wall would disappear, giving the player x-ray vision to see beyond the wall. This bug has been fixed.
- If the player completed Togo’s task in 1980s Mission Mode, Jokichi would spawn at school, even though he’s not supposed to be alive in that timeline. This bug has been fixed.
- In the Genocide Ending cutscene, the button prompt for skipping the cutscene was not updating based on the player’s current input device. This bug has been fixed.
- If the player activated the dance machine minigame and then closed it immediately, the minigame would permanently have a black screen. This bug has been fixed.
- The subtitles for the 1980s “please retrieve my friend’s magazine” task did not match the voice lines at all. This oversight has been corrected.
- Several characters’ portraits were not accurate or had graphical glitches in them. All portraits have been regenerated to fix this problem.
- If the player approached the Journalist, he would play one voice line infinitely instead of speaking properly. This bug has been fixed.
- In Custom Mode, the color picker was not correctly functioning for changing a teacher’s hair color. This bug has been fixed.
- If the player splashed a male or female with brown liquid, the character would freeze permanently. This bug has been fixed.
- In the courtroom scene, Ryoba was not using the correct face shape. This oversight has been corrected.
- Himari’s hair physics were not active until after the player spoke to her. This bug has been fixed.
What’s Next?
A lot of voice lines and animations have been delivered, and I’m very eager to implement them! In the next build, you should see multiple Amai events get animations and voice lines – and there’s a good chance that you’ll see a *new* event get added to Amai’s week, as well! I’ll tell you why…
After the first release of Amai – a very bare-bones, bare-minimum implementation of Amai – I realized that one of the things that made Amai’s week feel “empty” was a lack of interactions with characters aside from Senpai and her club. I decided that each rival’s week should have events where the rival interacts with at least *two* students aside from Senpai and her own clubmates.
I now have all of the voice lines and animations necessary to implement one of those events, so I’ll be adding it to the game soon! I wonder – can you guess which two characters Amai will be interacting with?
Bottom-of-Blog-Post Fan Spotlight
A certain fan of the game is a huge fan of Moeko, and commissioned extremely beautiful artwork of Moeko and her OC from an artist named sakurako!
Ah! This art is absolutely gorgeous! I love it!
