Hey! Sorry I’m late. The new build is finally ready for you!
Here’s a video of the most significant addition:

Improvements
- In a previous build, I updated the Amai stealth mission so that the player has an additional objective: take photos of several whiteboards that prove the bakery owner was sabotaging rival bakeries. From now on, these whiteboards will glow blue in Yandere Vision so that it’s easier for the player to know that the whiteboards are meaningful.
- Ayano’s voice lines for the “Ayano texts Amai after finding evidence to take down the rival bakery” cutscene have been replaced. I wanted Ayano to sound like “A girl who is pretending to be normal” rather than “A cold and emotionless girl.”
- Amai’s voice lines for the “Amai’s club shut down while she was away from school, so she stands in front of the club and mourns the loss of her club” event have been replaced.
- The subtitles in the confession cutscene now use the same white-to-pink gradient as the subtitles in the rest of the game.
- Amai’s “You never attended club activities, so you were kicked out of the club” dialogue is now voiced.
- A lot of people kept complaining that Ryoba’s Sunday dialogue with her sister shouldn’t reference “being late for school” since Sunday is not a schoolday, so I updated the dialogue system so it prints out different text if you’re talking to Ryoba’s sister on Sunday. (Ideally, the family would have different dialogue for all 50 days of the game, but it would take a tremendous amount of time to write that much dialogue, and it’s a relatively low-priority aspect of the game, so I’m not going to do it at this point in time.)
Fixes
- When 1980s Mode was first released, the rivals had “Generic Tasks.” Eventually, the rivals’ tasks were replaced with unique tasks. However, there was a bug: if the player accepted a Task from a rival, the button prompt for that rival’s “Generic Task” would appear at school, and could be used even though the corresponding task had never been accepted. This could even screw with other students’ Tasks. This bug has been fixed.
- If the player was kicked out of a club due to inactivity, and then tried to speak to the club leader again, the club leader was programmed to speak a line of dialogue about refusing to let the player rejoin the club. However, this feature was not functioning due to a bug. This bug has been fixed.
- In the Custom Mode menu…if the player gave students a Custom Uniform, then saved, then exited to the title screen, then returned to the Custom Mode menu, then loaded…the characters would not be in the Custom Uniform that the player selected. This bug has been fixed.
- In the Amai stealth mission, when playing with controller, holding down the right trigger would cause the “taking a photo” sound effect to play indefinitely instead of only playing the moment that the trigger was pulled. This bug has been fixed.
- If the player killed a person in the iron maiden, didn’t clean the blood inside, then killed another person with the iron maiden, the blood stains would float in midair outside of the maiden instead of remaining inside. This bug has been fixed.
- The “Ideas” page of Ryoba’s notepad incorrectly stated that the player could steal cooking utensils from the Cooking Club. This is not true; utensils can only be stolen from the Home Ec Room. This oversight has been corrected.
- Sumire’s ghost appears in photographs in 202X and 1980s Mode. However, Sumire died differently in 1980s Mode’s Mission Mode, so her ghost should not have been appearing in that mode. This oversight has been corrected.
- If the player joined the Cooking Club in Week 1, then got kicked out due to never attending, then tried to re-join the club in Week 2, it was possible to get back into the club. This exploit has been removed.
- If the player attacked Raibaru while she was exiting a “turning off radio” animation, she would exit the counter-attack animation, softlocking the player. This bug has been fixed.
- If the player picked up an object and then tried to set it back down where it belonged, it would teleport into the player’s torso and float there. This bug has been fixed.
- If the player turned on “low-detail students,” killed a student, and put their corpse in a bodybag, the student’s “low-detail” model would appear. This bug has been fixed.
- Due to a bug, students who were supposed to perform the “read a book” animation were instead performing the “rehearse lines for a play” animation. This bug has been fixed.
- If the player used a low-sanity chainsaw attack on a male student, the male student’s eyes would glitch out at the end of the animation. This bug is fixed.
- If the player attempted to play a Mission Mode mission involving a disguised Nemesis, Nemesis would spawn in a glitchy state. This bug has been fixed.
- The 3D model for the bookbag had a few problems (inverted normals) and has been replaced with a new 3D model with those problems fixed.
- When the player activated a “spy on rival’s event” button prompt, doors would turn invisible. This bug has been fixed.
- The subtitles for Senpai’s Friday lunchtime event were not accurate. This oversight has been corrected.
What’s Next?
My goals, in order:
- Adding “Schemes” to Amai’s week. (This will require an update to the Schemes menu. I’m going to divide “Generic Eliminations” and “Rival-Specific” eliminations into separate categories.)
- A handful of miscellaneous gameplay improvements to Amai’s week. (For example, changing the way I’ve positioned students around the school so that there is never a time when Amai is completely alone.)
- Considering whether or not I want to make a few other improvements to the game, or just jump directly to the next phase, which is:
- Making several YouTube videos to document everything that has been added to the game since 1980s Mode.
- Begin work on Kizana.
I apologize if you wanted me to leap immediately into Kizana as soon as Amai’s Confession cutscene was finished, but there are still a lot of things I think are important to do before I move on to Kizana.
Also, in-between the above goals, I’ll probably implement a few more animations and voice lines into Amai’s week. (There are a small number of events – such as the Uekiya event – that don’t have unique animations, and there are also a small number of circumstances that don’t have voice lines, either.)
Thank you for following the development of Yandere Simulator!

I love seeing people make animations inspired by Yandere Simulator! Here are some cool ones that I’ve seen recently:
And, last, I wanted to share some cosplay!
