April 5th Bug-Fixing Build

There were a couple of significant bugs in the previous build, so I’ve prepared an update that fixes those issues.

10th Anniversary Fan Art

Before we get to the changelog, I’d like to share a few more images that were created by fans to celebrate the game’s 10th Anniversary!

One anonymous fan was dedicated enough to bake a cake and decorate it with the Yandere Simulator logo! Awwwww, that’s so sweet! (Figuratively and literally!)

Another anonymous fan shared this art:

This art came from “tolan and taro”:

And this last one is from Kokoou-239685:

Okay! That’s everything I wanted to share with you! Now, let’s continue…

Improvements

  • Changes have been made to the way that water spills out of buckets when using the “Spill” feature. A stream of 10 puddles now pours out of the bucket over the course of 5 seconds, instead of one puddle appearing instantly. This makes it much easier and less time-consuming to make a “trail” of puddles.
  • From now on, Kokoro will use the “friendly” version of the phone addict idle animation when all of the other bullies have been killed.

Fixes

  • If a student with the “Phone Addict” Persona took a picture of the player committing murder and then the player immediately attended class, the game would successfully transition into the police investigation sequence, but the phone addict’s photograph would not be factored into the investigation, resulting in the player getting away with murder. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player used an amnesia bomb on a student who was solving a puzzle cube and then giggled while the student was in the “dazed by amnesia bomb” state, the student would get stuck in the “investigating giggle” state and would be unable to return to their normal routine. This bug has been fixed.
  • During the “rival tells Senpai that she saw the player commit murder” cutscene, the protagonist simply continued performing whatever animation she was performing before the cutscene began. This could result in the protagonist just running in place, looking like an idiot. This bug has been fixed.
  • When interacting with the crafting able in the chemistry lab, it’s possible to see some hints at the bottom right corner of the screen explaining where to find various crafting materials. One of those hints was inaccurate. This error has been corrected.
  • When Osana arrived at school as a mind-broken slave, her suitor would still perform his “stalk Osana” routine, even though that wasn’t the appropriate way to react to a missing girl showing up at school in rags. This bug has been fixed.
  • When designing a Custom Mode playthrough, if the player changed the order of who was talking in a Befriend/Betray custom, the game would not be able to progress through the cutscene properly. This bug has been fixed.
  • If a rival was electrocuted while the “Offer Help” button prompt was displaying, the player could use the button prompt to talk to the electrocuted rival as if they were still alive. This bug has been fixed.
  • It was possible to use the “change clothing in emergency shower” feature in Yakuza Mode, even though the ability to change clothing was not meant to be an aspect of that mode. This bug has been fixed.
  • One of Info-chan’s covert listening devices was positioned so that, if the school erected a fence on the rooftop, the fence would clip into the listening device. This bug has been fixed.
  • If a rival tried to warn Senpai that Ayano was a killer while he was running to the confession tree, he would completely ignore the rival. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player activated first-person mode while walking between the tables in the Chemistry Lab, the protagonist would become stuck. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player saved the game while wearing a mask, the mask would not re-appear on the player’s face upon loading that save. This bug has been fixed.
  • If Senpai spotted a weapon on the ground and reported it to a teacher, the teacher’s pathfinding would break. This bug is no longer able to happen.
  • One of the new props from the Home Ec Room was poking through the ceiling into the room above it. This mistake has been corrected.
  • If the player saved and loaded the game while a character was being electrocuted, bugs would occur. This issue has been resolved.
  • If Senpai spotted a weapon on the ground, he would not have a verbal reaction to it through subtitles. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player electrocuted Raibaru during her morning conversation with Osana, Raibaru would not die. This bug has been fixed.
  • It was possible for the player to “walk up” one of the folding chairs outside of the Cooking Club. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed bug that made it impossible for Newspaper Club members to walk into their clubroom.
