August 15th Bug-Fixing Build

Hello! I’ve prepared a new build with a lot of improvements and fixes!

To see everything that was added or changed in the latest build, scroll down past this beautiful illustration of Amai by Drawing_Mona!

Improvements

  • The previous “robot kills student by ripping out their heart” animation was actually created by re-purposing an animation from elsewhere in the game; it was one of Ayano’s “SNAP Mode” animations. It has been replaced by a new, original animation.
  • Two of Amai’s events recycled a “celebrating after music performance” animation. This animation has now been replaced by two new animations that are more appropriate for Amai’s sweet and gentle personality.
  • The woman standing outside of the maid cafe in 1980s Mode is now smiling. It wouldn’t make sense for her to look all frown-y and unfriendly, when her job is to attract customers to the cafe.
  • From now on, the 2D illustrations of Ayano and Ryoba at the title screen will be bloody if the player visits the title screen when their most recent save file is at Low School Atmosphere.
  • The watering cans on gardening club members now use different shaders that are more appropriate for the anime-like art style of the game.
  • Two rivals from 1980s Mode – Sumiko and Ritsuko – have had their socks adjusted to be more accurate to their official artwork.
  • It is now possible for the player to carry multiple lockpicks, instead of being limited to just one lockpick at a time.
  • Replaced the placeholder “Ayano eats breakfast at home” animation with a much better-looking animation.
  • It is now possible for the player to conceal a human heart inside of a bookbag.
  • Updated Kaga’s eye texture to be more accurate to his official artwork.
  • Updated Uekiya’s eye shape to match her official artwork more closely.
  • Updated Sakyu’s eye shape to match her official artwork more closely.
  • Updated Amai’s eye shape to match her official artwork more closely.
  • Kaguya’s pink socks now match her hair color.

Fixes

  • If the player eliminated their rival using Homu’s robot, her death would be marked as a “Murder-Suicide.” While this is technically correct – because the robot murdered her and then self-destructed – it wasn’t the most appropriate way to describe the rival’s death. A rival who dies by robot will now be marked as “Attacked with Weapon,” because Ayano did, technically, kill her by weaponizing a robot and sending it to attack the rival.
  • If the player gets sent to the guidance counselor, the clock doesn’t move and students don’t move, but all of the events that were going to happen during that phase of the day are cancelled. This is all intentional. However, there was an unintentional side-effect: the rival wouldn’t go set down her bookbag, which would prevent several game mechanics from being available. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player dismembered a student in a place that would cause their limbs to spawn on top of a table, and then the player wrapped that limb in a garbage bag so that a student would try to pick it up during cleaning time, the student would fail to ever reach the limb, since it was too far away from any place they could pathfind to. This bug has been fixed.
  • In 1980s Mode, if the player advanced the phase of the day while a Science Club member was in the “rummage in the storage room” state, that Science Club member would perform the “rummaging for supplies” animation when they returned to their table in the Science Club. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player tried to kill both Musume and Osana with electrocution during Osana’s Friday “talk with Musume” event, Musume would get electrocuted but would walk around like nothing happened, causing nearby students to react to her as if she was a corpse. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player obtained a lockpick and then obtained the key to unlock a locked door, the locked door would continue to have a “Use Lockpick” button prompt over it, even after it had been opened by its key. This bug has been fixed.
  • If a teacher spotted the player committing murder 1 second before the police arrived at school, the teacher would talk to the police about you instead of apprehending you. This was unintended, so it will no longer happen.
  • If the player spilled a student’s blood, activated the “Censor Blood” option to turn the blood into flowers, and then enabled Yandere Vision, the flowers would turn back into blood pools. This bug has been fixed.
  • All murder evidence is supposed to have an orange outline. A tarp bag containing a severed limb had an orange outline, but, due to a bug, a garbage bag containing a severed limb did not. This bug has been fixed.
  • If Osana witnessed the player kill Raibaru, she was supposed to obtain the Hero Persona and attempt to apprehend the player. However, due to a bug, this wasn’t happening. That bug has been fixed.
  • If Ayano changed clothing in an emergency shower, other students would be able to see her (and react to the blood on her body) even when the shower curtains were closed. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player interrupted Osana’s Monday “talk on the rooftop with Raibaru” conversation by attacking Raibaru, Raibaru wouldn’t enter the struggle animation properly. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player created a Custom Mode rival whose routine involved sunbathing at 4:00 PM, the rival would begin her 5:15 PM event with Senpai while wearing a swimsuit. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player completed the “sabotage oven” checklist while inside of the Home Ec room, the checklist would remain onscreen at a very low opacity (like 2%). This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player aimed their camera while standing in a specific location in the Headmaster’s office, it was possible to climb on top of his furniture. This bug has been fixed.
  • In Custom Mode, any character with the Snitch Persona or Dangerous Persona would not react properly to a camera being aimed at their face. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player stood extremely close to a student and then entered first-person mode, they could walk inside of that student’s body. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player angled the camera in certain ways in the 202X Science Club, various objects inside of the club would stop rendering. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player was playing the game with a Sony controller, the button prompt for opening the hardware menu would be incorrect. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player killed a student, saved, and loaded that save, the student’s corpse would not appear orange in Yandere Vision. This bug has been fixed.
  • The “A portrait of the player’s custom protagonist will appear on the stats screen in Custom Mode” feature stopped working. This bug has been fixed.
  • If a rival confessed to Senpai while wearing a gym uniform, her skin would be solid white during the confession cutscene. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player eliminated their rival, the “Schedule” screen would still display the rival’s list of events with Senpai. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player befriended a student but never photographed them, they would not have a green outline on subsequent days. This bug has been fixed.
  • When Mai Wakahara or Kiba Kawaito performed their running animations, their hair would clip into their bodies. This should no longer happen.
  • After a Gardening Club member changed their shoes at their locker, their watering can would disappear. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player used Week Select to befriend all students, they would not gain access to Homu’s robot. This bug has been fixed.
  • 1980s Mode students were not posing for photographs when the player aimed a camera at them. This bug has been fixed.
  • Homu will no longer accept a short-circuited car battery (with smoke is emitting from it) for her Task request.
  • In Custom Mode, the hair salon owner referred to the player as “Ryoba.” This oversight has been corrected.
  • In Custom Mode, male rivals were using the wrong bookbag for the time period. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed bug that prevented the player from being able to color certain male hairstyles in Custom Mode.
  • The nata was still using its old name – “old axe” – in Mission Mode. This error has been corrected.
  • Fixed typo in the Cooking Menu.

One Last Thing

I recently received the last asset necessary for Kizana’s Befriend/Betray stealth mission! I recorded a video about it and uploaded it to my Patreon page. Check it out if you’re interested!
