Hello!
Over the past 2 weeks, I spent a *lot* of time working together with Amai’s voice actress to record a massive number of voice lines; more than 50% of her dialogue is now recorded, and I’m hoping that the remaining 50% will be recorded over the next 2 weeks!
Now that I finally have a bunch of Amai voice lines to send to my animator, the next animations I’ll ask him to work on will all be related to Amai and her events with Senpai. You’ll finally start to see Amai’s week rising up to the same level of quality as Osana’s week!
In the meantime, while my animator was waiting for those voice lines to come in, he worked on something else – giving visuals to a cutscene that, for a very long time, has just been subtitles on a black screen. I’m SUPER happy with how it turned out; please check it out!!
In my opinion, this is one of the most – if not THE most – impressive-looking cutscenes in the game, visually! I really hope that future cutscenes will be able to match this one in terms of quality!
For a list of everything else that was changed in the latest build, please scroll down past this artwork of Ayano dressed as the protagonist of Lollipop Chainsaw, illustrated by an artist named Ayano!
Since Amai was released, I’ve been collecting feedback from players on various ways to improve her week. In this build, I implemented a handful of those improvements:
Plenty more improvements are planned, but these are the only ones I was able to implement over the past 2 weeks, since recording new voice lines for Amai took up a tremendous amount of time, and didn’t leave me with much time left over to do other things. (The process is a lot more complex than simply writing a script and sending it to an actress; I provide direction on the delivery and tone I want for each line, I review and critique every take, we iterate on each take until it’s finally perfect, etc.)
Those new voice lines haven’t been incorporated into the game in *this* build, but I think you can look forward to hearing a lot of new voice lines for Amai in the *next* build!
