Hi! I plan to release a new build of the game in three hours. But, before that, I wanted to share something with you…
Occasionally, a fan of Yandere Simulator will contact me and ask where they can find this build of Yandere Simulator:
That screenshot is not from a build of the game that was released to the public; it was a test/experiment from the extremely early days of Yandere Simulator’s development. I wanted to see how quickly I could get the protagonist moving around a school environment, so I bought a school model from the Unity Asset Store and dropped Ayano in there. (Actually, this was so long ago that Ayano wasn’t even named yet; she was just “Yandere-chan” at that point in time!)
However, “Sorry, that build doesn’t actually exist; it was just a screenshot I took with some asset store models…” is a very boring answer. I’d like to give a more satisfying resolution to any fan that cares about the game enough to go hunting for old “Lost Builds” of the game.
So, I hopped on my old computer, loaded up Yandere Simulator’s earliest prototype, went hunting through the files…and found it!
Yep, there it is, alright! The legendary “Lost Build” of Yandere Simulator. (Well, technically, it’s a build that never even existed…but, anyway…)
For that small number of fans who were searching in vain for this build, as if it were some sort of holy grail of lost media, I’ve decided to export a build of the game where you can run around this environment:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/g10w70aabix5ux2/Lost+Media+Build.zip/file
I’m letting you know right now not to expect anything spectacular from this build; it has no gameplay whatsoever! I’m uploading it purely to provide closure and satisfaction to a small number of devoted fans, not because I personally believe it’s something phenomenal.
Oh, by the way, there’s something you should be aware of. When you load into the school, the camera is bugged, and you have to right-click your mouse in order to fix it. (Yeah! That’s right! I’m providing it “as-is,” bugs and all. Consider it to be a matter of…”software preservation.” Guaranteeing the survival of an important part of computer gaming history. Yeah…yeah, that’s totally it…)
I hope that somebody out there gets a kick out of it!
