May 18th Bug-Fixing Build

In the previous build, the game was configured to use “Direct3D 12” instead of “Direct3D 11.” Apparently, this caused a huge number of problems for many players, ranging from the game crashing at launch, to crashing when loading into the school, to crashing when opening the Student Info menu. Wow! What a mess! I had no idea that upgrading to Direct3D 12 could have those side-effects. I’ve decided to revert back to Direct3D 11 and release a new build.

Improvements

  • Cooking Club members will no longer drop their plates upon seeing the player in a suspicious state. They will only drop their plates if they see something on the ground that they know they have to report to a teacher (such as a pool of blood).
  • The wedding photo of Jokichi and Ryoba hanging in Ayano’s home has been replaced with new artwork. Jokichi and Ryoba are now in traditional Japanese wedding attire.
  • In a video that I uploaded in 2018, I said that any student with the “Spiteful” Persona would be immune to intimidation. This is now an aspect of the game.
  • I felt that the pose Sumire was doing in her “Missing” poster was not appropriate for her, so I’ve replaced it with a new pose.

Fixes

  • The confession cutscene at the end of Custom Mode was broken and not portraying the protagonist correctly or displaying text properly. The underlying issue that caused these problems has been resolved.
  • If the player was walking while accessing the “feed list,” the player would retain the ability to make the protagonist move around while making selections in the feed list. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player used the “Unlock for 1 Info Point” feature to unlock a student’s profile on the Student Info screen, that student would not be outlined in Yandere Vision. This bug has been fixed.
  • In the last build, the game lost the ability to recognize that the player was taking a photograph of a kitten, which was essential for completing Riku’s Task. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player tried to access the Student Info screen while at home, the game wouldn’t be able to properly populate the text at the bottom of the screen. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed typos and font inconsistencies on the Dark Delights poster in the town.
