Hello!
Over the past 2 weeks, I spent a *lot* of time working together with Amai’s voice actress to record a massive number of voice lines; more than 50% of her dialogue is now recorded, and I’m hoping that the remaining 50% will be recorded over the next 2 weeks!
Now that I finally have a bunch of Amai voice lines to send to my animator, the next animations I’ll ask him to work on will all be related to Amai and her events with Senpai. You’ll finally start to see Amai’s week rising up to the same level of quality as Osana’s week!
In the meantime, while my animator was waiting for those voice lines to come in, he worked on something else – giving visuals to a cutscene that, for a very long time, has just been subtitles on a black screen. I’m SUPER happy with how it turned out; please check it out!!
In my opinion, this is one of the most – if not THE most – impressive-looking cutscenes in the game, visually! I really hope that future cutscenes will be able to match this one in terms of quality!

Improvements to Amai’s Week
Since Amai was released, I’ve been collecting feedback from players on various ways to improve her week. In this build, I implemented a handful of those improvements:
- In Amai’s “re-unite with the Cooking Club” event, she will now speak individually to each member of the Cooking Club. Now it feels like she is actually interacting with them, instead of just talking in the direction of some lifeless mannequins. (The game will check if any member of the club is dead, and, if so, will skip over that part of the event.)
- While Amai’s bake sale is going on, the posters around school will be replaced with posters advertising her bake sale.
- The placards advertising Amai’s bake sale are now larger, and a few of them have been added in front of the school.
- During Cleaning Time, Amai and the Cooking Club now clean the Home Ec room instead of cleaning their usual spots.
Plenty more improvements are planned, but these are the only ones I was able to implement over the past 2 weeks, since recording new voice lines for Amai took up a tremendous amount of time, and didn’t leave me with much time left over to do other things. (The process is a lot more complex than simply writing a script and sending it to an actress; I provide direction on the delivery and tone I want for each line, I review and critique every take, we iterate on each take until it’s finally perfect, etc.)
Those new voice lines haven’t been incorporated into the game in *this* build, but I think you can look forward to hearing a lot of new voice lines for Amai in the *next* build!
Fixes
- If the player killed the leader of the gardening club, picked up the key that she dropped, saved, and loaded that save, an additional gardening shed key would spawn next to the gardening club leader’s corpse. This bug has been fixed.
- If the player saved and loaded the game while a bucket was attached to a woodchipper, the game would not properly understand what state to put the woodchipper into upon reloading the save. This is no longer possible.
- If the player performed a Mission Mode mission involving any weapon that was added to the game after the scythe was added, the pause screen wouldn’t display the name of the weapon. This bug has been fixed.
- If the player was spotted misbehaving by a teacher, and then the teacher died immediately afterwards (due to electrocution, most likely), the game would softlock. This bug has been fixed.
- In 1980s Mode, it was possible for the player to travel to school on Sunday by entering the Hardware menu and then choosing “Bring To School.” This bug has been fixed.
- In the “Senpai is tied to a chair in Ayano’s basement” cutscene, Senpai’s blindfold was clipping through his hair. This oversight has been corrected.
- If the player handed a “Puzzle Cube” to a student, the student would not drop the puzzle cube upon completing the puzzle. This bug has been fixed.
- If the player aimed their camera at Raibaru, Raibaru would fail to perform a “posing for camera” animation. This bug has been fixed.
- It was possible to get stuck on some of the geometry in Ayano’s backyard. This bug has been fixed.
